Service Description

The Security Instructor Development Certification Course (IDC) is a 40-hour training course mandated by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services in order to become a Certified Security Guard Instructor. Applicants can receive up to 30 points for three years of employment experience. Successful completion of this Instructor Development Course (IDC) will count as 40 points, and together the applicants will have the 70 points required to apply for the Security Guard Instructor Application, which must be submit to DCJS along with the $500 Certification Fee. This certification will allow new instructors to apply conduct training at state approved security guard training schools in the State of New York. The goal of this course is to assist instructor candidates in developing the ability to research, prepare and communicate that knowledge to others. This is the class that provides “Instructor” certification for Security Guards in General Topics, which include the 8-hour Pre Assignment, 16-hour On Job Training (OJT) and the 8-hour Annual In Service, all of which are the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services mandated courses for new and working registered New York State registered Security Guards, Armed and Unarmed. This course is also the prerequisite for training to become a NYS CERTIFIED Firearms Instructor, as well as other specialties. Cancellation Policy

NO Refund Policy Effective Date: September 2025 Thank you for choosing Professional Protection Security Training for your training needs. Please read this policy carefully before registering for any of our training programs. 1. No Refunds: Once a client has registered for any training program and any part of the training has been taken, there will be absolutely no refunds for any reason. This policy is strictly enforced to maintain the integrity and quality of our training services. 2. Cancellation by Company: If Professional Protection Security Training cancels a class, clients will be eligible for a full refund or may choose to transfer their registration to another available class. 3. Dispute of Charges: If any client disputes the charges on any credit card, PayPal, Zelle, CashApp, or any other payment service, it will be considered an act of fraud and a crime. Our company will not only seek legal action but will also pursue legal charges against the individual responsible. 4. Consequences of Fraudulent Disputes: Any dispute fraudulently made will result in the cancellation of any class certification with the city or state entity of record. The individual responsible will be listed as committing criminal fraud and will be held accountable for repaying the entire charge, plus an additional fee of $35. 5. Acknowledgment: By registering for any of our training programs, clients acknowledge and agree to this NO Refund Policy.
